Rebel Wilson Says Former Costar Sexually Harassed Her, Then Tried To Destroy Her Career

Rebel Wilson has alleged for the first time that she was sexually harassed by a male costar who tried to “destroy” her career after she reported the “awful and disgusting” incident.

In an interview with People magazine published Thursday, the actor said a male castmate once called her into a room and pulled down his pants, then asked her to perform a lewd act.

She did not name the actor or say what film they were in together. 

The “Senior Year” star, who is a trained lawyer, said she complained to her representatives and the studio about the incident. She also “made sure people knew what happened” among “industry circles.”

“I found out I was like the fourth person to complain about the guy,” she said. “Such gross behavior, but a lot of women have had it way worse.” 

Wilson said the male actor later “kind of tried to destroy me and my career,” but didn’t elaborate on what he did. 

The incident happened before the Me Too movement took off and put a spotlight on the prevalence of sexual harassment and assault , Wilson said. 

She said she continued filming the movie because it was the “professional” thing to do, but noted that she would handle a similar situation differently now. 

“If it happened again, I would probably stand up for myself even more just because of the bravery of the other women that have stood up and now allowed me an opportunity,” she said.
